On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, our lives changed forever. We welcomed our son into the world at 5:49pm!
I can honestly say that it was one of the best days of my life. A day filled with love and laughter…and of course, a little pain. 
All in all, I couldn’t have scripted the day any better. I saw this face and immediately fell in love.
We came home on Friday and my husband and I have been enjoying the role of parents more than we ever thought possible. My love for my husband has grown to a whole new level as I see him in the role of “Daddy”. He has shown so much love to me and my son – I keep telling him that he needs to write a book for men about how to be a great new dad.
We feel so blessed. We have had so many wonderful visitors over the past few days and are convinced that we have the best baby in the whole world. And the cutest too. Obviously.
I anticipate that my blogging will be on the light side for the next few weeks as we soak in every moment with our precious newborn. But don’t you worry, I’m already looking forward to getting the “okay” from the doctor to return to my “wannabe athlete” ways!
But for now I’m content to just hold my baby boy as much as possible and bask in every little thing he does.

Oh my gosh – I gave birth to our first son on June 1st too! At 4:43pm! How exciting and congratulations … I’m sure you guys are so happy to have him home. I too wake up every morning and feel so blessed, such an amazing experience! Best of luck with your little man!
