Awesome Costumes at the Princess Half

I definitely had fun dressing up for the Princess Half…

But I wasn’t the only one.

Everywhere you looked at this race, there were people in AWESOME costumes. Thankfully, my sister got a photos of some of the most amazing ones.

Cruella Deville ran the race with a few of her¬†dalmatians…

We saw a few frogs along the course – hoping to get kissed by a princess, I’m sure!

I actually talked to this runner before the race started – she even had amazing fake eyelashes on! And her hair – you can’t tel in this picture but it was absolutely beautiful. She said she got up at 2:30am to start getting ready. That’s dedication!

Woody made an appearance…

And Rapunzel ran the race with Pascal on her shoulder, next to Princess Aurora.

There were a few Minnies on the course…

And lots of Cinderellas and Tinker Bells.

I loved seeing a few Prince Charmings on the course…

And guys in Tinker Bell wings.

Mrs. Incredible is one of my favorite characters now that I’m a mom – and this runner’s costume was spot on!

I have to admit – these girls’ costumes were pretty impressive. Did you notice that Snow White is running with an apple in her hand??

But I have to admit – these girls win the prize in my book. Check out Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!

So creative! I really wish I knew how they made those hats – and kept them on their heads for 13.1 miles!

Let’s take a vote – which is your favorite costume?¬†

  2. These costumes are amazing! People were really creative and detailed. I’m sure that made the race even more fun, both to run and to spectate!

I’ve only run in a costume once (Santa) and it was soooo hot. I don’t know if I’m up to trying it again?

  7. Thanks so much for sharing all of these awesome pictures! You looked AWESOME!! It looks like it was such a FUN race!! I defintely need to put this race on the “bucket (race) list”. I’ve done the Disney Half a couple of times, but never the Princess Half. Congrats, and thanks again for sharing!

  8. Forgot to vote for my favorite: definitely Ariel! She is hands down my favorite princess and I’m dying to dress up as her one day :)

  9. I love all the costumes!!! Did you know the male winner ran in a hot pink shirt and skirt????

  10. What a great idea for a post!! I loved this! I vote for the Prince Charming because it takes an awesome man to dress up and run in a half marathon with Princess in the title :)

  11. I was one of the VoluntEARS at Medals and I got to Medal those Tweedle girls! Their hats were actually barrettes! And boy was it fun to get medals over their heads ;) Great Job Princesses!!!!! And Princes!! ;)

  12. I love this post!! The costumes are some of the most fun parts of Disney races. I can’t wait until my next one. I’m absolutely going to go all out. I love your tutu!

  13. I LOVE Princess Jasmine! So cute!

  14. Love this post! There were so many amazing costumes, I wish there were even more pictures! I saw those Minnie Mouse girls and LOVED those tights! I also love your costume! I knew I should have carried an apple! :-)

  15. Loved seeing all the costumes out on the course! Great meeting you at the FAM weekend! I ran with my fiance as Cinderella and Prince Charming. Pics and recap is here: http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/run-karla-run/2012/feb/29/disneys-princess-half-marathon-race-recap/

  16. That girl with the fake eye lashes is AMAZING! In the final mile, I saw a girl wearing a full on wedding dress. Now it might not have been heavy satin, but it wasn’t a chintzy costume. She ran the entire time holding it up!

  17. Ariel has some rockin’ abs! I saw one Ariel dressed like that, and she looked like a big slop.

  18. I actually met that Mrs. Incredible this weekend at Gasparilla! She’s amazing! And she’s in her 40s. She didn’t look it AT ALL!

  19. Awesome costumes!! Are you running 2013 too? I just registered and am still mulling over costume ideas:

    -Minnie Mouse
-Merida (though running with a bow & arrow would be tough!)
    -Meeko
    -Cheshire Cat

Anyone decided on their 2013 costumes yet?
