Want to Run the Women’s Half Marathon?

Life doesn’t always go like we planned.

I feel like I’m learning that a lot lately. Just when I think I have it all figured out, I’m thrown for a loop.Β I’ve definitely been thrown for a few loops lately when it comes to my running plans!

Back in February, I ran my first half marathon.

I felt unstoppable. Running had become “my thing” and all I wanted to do was sign up for more races. True to form, at the Expo for that race, I signed up to run the Women’s Half Marathon here in St. Petersburg on Sunday, November 18.

I even coerced a few friends into doing it with me!

Well, fast forward a few weeks. Surprise! I’m pregnant!

Oh and I’m due the week after the Women’s Half Marathon.

This is seriously the race that keeps getting away. I signed up to run it in 2010 – and found out I was pregnant a few months into my training. In 2011, I ran the 5k because I didn’t feel ready to tackle the whole 13.1 miles just over six months after having my baby. And now in 2012 I’ll be missing it yet again!

Mark my words – I WILL RUN THIS RACE IN 2013!

Hmm. Maybe I shouldn’t make such bold declarations. Like I’ve said things don’t always go as planned! But it certainly is a goal. πŸ™‚

But just because I won’t be running it this year doesn’t mean that YOU can’t run it! My sweet friends over at Women’s Half Marathon have set up a discount code just for my readers.

Discount: $10 off
Expiration 6/1/12

Just enter the code when you register here. If you’re looking for a late fall race (Nov 18), this is the one to do. The course is beautiful, the swag is fantastic and their medals are always the best. How gorgeous is their medal from last year?

Will you be running the Women’s Half Marathon?
