There really is something to this accountability thing.
I honestly had no desire to workout this morning. Zero. But because I told you all I would, I did. And you know what? It felt great!
It took me a little longer to get out the door than it used too – I used to have it down to a science. But I still stepped outside before the sun really came up and I instantly remembered why I’ve always considered myself a morning person. I love being out and about before the rest of the world!
It may have technically been the first day of summer, but it felt cooler this morning than I expected. So cool in fact that I decided to push my planned walk a little further. After walking the first 0.4 miles, I decided to give running a try. I ran slowly, but I ran! And actually felt better than I thought I would. I ran a tenth of a mile, then walked two tenths, then ran again – until I finished a mile.
Simple? Yes. A far cry from the runs I used to do? Of course.
But since I did it today, I know I can do it again. After the mile, I did some lunges, squats and pushups.
How did I feel?
Alive. Invigorated. Refreshed.
Thanks for the encouragement and thanks for checking up on me. Knowing you were counting on me got me out the door. Blogging has been one of my biggest motivators when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle and working out and I realized today how much I’ve missed regularly checking in with you.
So tomorrow…ask me what I’ve done to “live healthy.” I’m not sure yet what it will be – maybe a workout, maybe a healthy eating choice…but it will be something.
Because I know you’re counting on me.
Thanks for the motivation!
How does accountability play into the healthy decisions you make?

I definitely depend on my blog for motivation. Way to go!
I have group of friends that I run with twice a week and teach aerobics to twice a week. Knowing that these girls are going to be watching me run or looking to me to lead a class motivates me to make smarter choices. If I stay up too late, eat too much sugar, or don’t stretch, it shows in my performance – and that effects their workouts too. Conversely, when I do make a less than healthy choice, they are there to encourage me to get back on track!
yeah!! I agree that it definitely pushes me in races too!
Way to go, Callie! Keep it up, girl!
