I stopped by Publix on Saturday and glanced at the magazine rack in the checkout line. THERE IT WAS!
I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see a new issue of Fitness Magazine. I snatched it up and started frantically flipping through the pages. And I saw THIS:
I threw the open magazine in front of the cashier and said,
“That’s ME!!! I’m in this magazine!!!!!”
She gracefully said her “oohs” and “aahs” as I stood there grinning like a fool. That’s when I realized that everyone else on the page looks gorgeous and I look goofy in my Belle outfit from the Disney Half Marathon. Oh well. Maybe my goofiness will make someone feel like they can relate to me and come check out my blog?
Because that’s what this is all about after all. The cashier is actually the one that reminded me of that. She read the blurb about me and said, “I used to be in good shape, but raising two kids and working full-time just made it impossible for me to stay that way.”
I wanted to hug her and say, “It IS possible! It’s not easy, but it is possible!”
I’m not in Fitness Magazine because I’m the perfect example of fitness and health. In fact, when I found out I would be featured in the magazine, I started freaking out to my husband and said, “BUT I’M NOT FIT!”
But maybe, just maybe, this blog can encourage someone like that cashier. Maybe we can find a community of “wannabe’s” here who support each other in our dreams to do more. Be more.
Thank you all again for voting for me as “Best Inspirational Blog.” It means more to me than you know!
