Want to Try GaiamTV?

I mentioned that last week when I went out of town, I neglected to bring my running shoes. Well, they’re really walking shoes these days.

But one thing did come in handy! Earlier this month, GaiamTV contacted me about reviewing their product on my blog. The way I’ve been describing it to friends? It’s basically like Netflix for yoga and workout videos. I own the Gaiam PreNatal Yoga DVD and used it pretty regularly when pregnant with the Mini Athlete. GaiamTV gives you access not only to that video, but literally HUNDREDS of other yoga and fitness videos – including a pretty extensive Jillian Michaels collection!

There are several other workouts on the site including “The Firm”, several Pilates videos and TONS of yoga.

There are also some extra things like documentaries, films, webinar-type sessions, etc. When I received my login a few weeks ago, I immediately went on and filtered according to “pregnancy” and was surprised at how many things they had – including “Buff Moms to Be.”

I had never heard of this before, but I thought I would give it a shot! I grabbed my hand weights got to work.

Whew.

It wasn’t easy.

My arms were sore the next day. And maybe the day after that.

But it sure felt good to do something other than just walking!

But back to last week in Columbus. I wasn’t quite up to the “Buff Moms to Be” videos, but I did login for one of their prenatal yoga DVDs. I loved that I could access it right in my hotel room.

Membership costs $9.95/month but the folks at Gaiam were kind enough to let me try it for a month for free. And guess what? They want you to have the chance to try it for free for a month too!

  3. I love to do tabata workouts when travelling, especially when the hotel gym lacks proper equipment or is non-existant!

    I try and get to a hotel gym if I can, or just head outside for a long walk or run!

    I always pack my running shoes, too. Running around new cities is a great way to familiarize myself with the layout of the city and really feel its “vibe.”

    I always hope that the hotel I am staying at has a gym. Otherwise walking is a great and easy way to get some exercise!

    I have a 10 week old baby boy so now my favorite workouts while traveling are putting him in the Ergo baby carrier and going for hikes!!

    What a fun idea! Netflix doesn’t have very good streaming fitness options, so this is great! My favorite way to work out while traveling is hiking or biking! (I tend to vacation in places where these are options.) When I’m in an urban setting, I like to take a long walk and explore a neighborhood or city park. We recently went to NYC and we rented bikes and biked through Central Park. THAT was awesome!!

    My favorite is to take my sneakers and walk and explore wherever I am. It gives me a chance to take some “me-time”, explore, and get a mini workout in!

    I’m usually able to walk more when I travel, and I also try to fit in some Pilates mat exercises if I can!
