Christmas Traditions: Decorating the Tree

I mentioned in my last post that my family has always had a lot of traditions. Last Saturday, we enjoyed one of the classics – decorating my parents’ Christmas tree!

What made this year extra special? The Mini Athlete’s cousin flew in from Texas! They had a lot of fun getting to know each other.

Oh yeah…his parents came too. 🙂

Decorating the Christmas tree is always a lengthy endeavor. Each ornament gets unwrapped and put on the tree – usually accompanied by a story about its origin. It can take a while, but it’s always a lot of fun.

After we decorated the tree, Amma had some time with her grandsons…

And Grandpa and Little Miss Athlete caught some zzz’s.

The finished product!

Do you have any traditions around decorating the tree?

P.S. The Mini Athlete is a finalist in Caitlin’s “Sweet Santa Photo Contest“! Check out her post to cast your vote!
